It's May

Hello all...

Well it's May and the unemployment cloud is still lurking. Tell me how is it possible that one can submit so many resumes and not get any responses? Is there some resume abyss out there that none of us know about? I think it's time to purchase another money candle to light and yes the last one worked in case you non-believers were wondering.

Given the unemployment situation there has been a lot of "staying at home" in the Duran household. Good news is yes it does bring the family closer together, the bad news is it starts to feel like you are sitting on each others lap after a while; all in all everyone has been really supportive and helpful.

I spent a few days up in Poway helping my Aunt & Uncle clean out their garage. Work and all it was fun spending time with them and of course it had to be some of the hottest days of the year which made for lots of water, OK and a few beers!! Actually it was a few "Pitchers" of beers :) hehehe

With summer quickly approaching my reptile radar is on high alert. Living on a canyon we tend to get more than our fair share of them. Last week when we had those couple of warm days my boxer and my hero Rocco killed a king snake on the side of our house!! Just about 3 feet from our garage; I am so happy it never made it in there. A few years back we had 4 snakes in one summer I pray the one last week will be the only one this year!! By the way Rocco got 3 hot dogs as a reward for his snake duties!!
We also have a new family of baby bunnies showing up in our back yard...they are so cute!!

Other than that everyone is doing fine and while times may be hard I am still thankful for the many blessings we have.

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!!

Love to all....Lori
